Meditation in India is Now an Easier Practice

India is traditionally famous for its sages, hermits, and monks and their propagated meditation lessons. For ages and eras these sects of people are held in high esteem and draw reverence from a large section of Indians as well as foreigners. Many of these sages have thousands of devotees to themselves. Meditation in India is a practice going back centuries and is still practiced regularly by millions, though with a difference.

In historic times meditation was a rigorous task to be practised in desolate location, far away fro human habitation. Forests, mountain caves, and uninhabited places were treated as ideal for meditating, however not without reason. The primary purpose of meditation was attainment of mental peace and enhancement of spiritual strength. This ideally could be done when there is complete tranquillity all around. Disturbed environment being detrimental to having a peaceful mind, hermits and sages used to relocate to isolated areas for meditating in complete peace. A silent and peaceful environment is the basic pre-condition of meditation.

After retiring to these isolated areas, hermits used to meditate for months and even years. Stories on meditation in India are full of examples of sages retiring for decades in wilderness sitting in meditation. With passage of time, the places of recluse for meditation have significantly decreased, particularly in India. With Indian population crossing a billion, secluded areas for meditation are scarce. Hill retreats have been taken over by hill stations, forest recluses by tourist resorts, and sea sides by upmarket hotels. Even though there really has been a fall in isolated locales, there has not been much change in meditation destinations in India.

Meditation in India is now no longer restricted to serene locations but extend to homes. Meditation is now looked upon as a cure for stressed minds and disturbed feelings. Increased pressure at work place, unfulfilled aspirations, and unrestricted demands lead to depression and frustration. Meditation is the easiest and most trusted way to come out of this disturbed state of mind. Modern day meditation in India demands that this habit could be practised even in homes. It is not necessary to travel to remote areas for attaining peace of mind. Even a quiet place in your home could be the perfect place for meditation. You just need to find a quiet area in your residence where you could have some moments to yourself. Immerse in deep thought and concentrate on your inner self. A noiseless ambience would help you in this practice. Though initially it might be difficult to imbibe this habit, a few attempts would certainly make you successful.

It has been observed that on regular meditation it is possible to have a more determined mind and controlled emotions. For inculcating this habit of Meditation in India you jut need to have self motivation and some discipline. When meditation becomes a habit, you would feel a change within yourself. Your thoughts get focussed and there is less of distraction. This enables you to build confidence and consequently take on more difficult tasks with convenience. Modern day practices of meditation in India is patronised by Zmeditation.
